My path to becoming a writer is intricately woven into the multitude of experiences that life has so kindly provided for me. I incorporated all of this—highs and lows, things I loved and a lot I would have preferred to have skipped—into the narratives I've written about my experiences in the military. I use fiction as a vehicle to express these various experiences, giving my characters and the settings they live in the essence of real-life knowledge and understanding.
