The soft tissues, including muscles, fascia, ligaments, and tendons, are crucial in pain management & treatment. Over time, they can become tense, tight, harden, and may feel “gristly,” leading to ongoing pain and injury. These soft tissues respond best to hands-on massage and detailed bodywork and are less responsive to adjustment-only “10-minute chiropractic” treatments, which primarily focus on the spinal joints (not soft tissues). Many pain sufferers who experience relief from spinal adjustments, whose pain returns quickly, are almost always due to chronic underlying muscle tension that hasn’t been treated.
