Adam Cimber traded to Marlins for cash

The Cleveland Indians have traded relief pitcher Adam Cimber to the Miami Marlins for cash considerations Josh Naylor Flag. According to the Associated Press, $100,000 is coming back to the Indians in the deal. Cimber two-plus years in Cleveland could charitably be described as interesting to watch, as he used his submarine style pitching motion in the latter innings but not often with great results. He was touted as a righty specialist when he was brought over along with Brad Hand in the Francisco Mejia trade, but the three-batter minimum rule implemented for the 2020 season put an end to that. Instead of being used with surgical precision to face righties  where he allowed a career 35 runs in 102 https://www.baseballstoreonline.com/Bert_Blyleven-533.2 innings he was forced to face at least three batters if he wasn ending an inning. The result was just 11.1 innings pitched with five earned runs, two walks, and five strikeouts in 2020. Even worse, four of those runs came in 7.1 innings against righties. Cimber was designated for assignment last week when the Indians claimed reliever Jordan Humphreys off waivers from the San Francisco Giants.
