Since 2013, Grinding Gear Games has slowly built a community around Free Game Exile, a game whose creators were dissatisfied with the lack of available dungeon crawlers at the time. With Grinding Gear Games planning another Path of Exile expansion, the Ultimatum, it is working hard to make the next series entry: Path of Exile 2. The sequel introduces new game mechanics and POE Currency, but it will not leave the community behind. Yes, your Path of Exile characters and purchases will continue into Path of Exile 2, allowing you to jump into new PC games effortlessly.
Path of Exile 2 continues the story of the first game, a dark fantasy based on the continent of Wraeclast. There is a lost eternal empire, ancient immortals, demons, and contracts to save or destroy the world. Naturally, there are monsters everywhere in this land, which can be killed and plundered in large numbers. Grinding Gear Games is working hard for Path of Exile 2, and promises to provide many new features, including 19 classes, a new skill gem system, updated abilities, and new weapons and armor. Path of Exile 2 has no set release date, and the studio will not enter the beta stage until "2022" at the earliest.
This may cause Path of Exile 2 to compete with Blizzard’s Diablo 4, which has no set release date. Although Diablo 4 is a fresh start, Path of Exile 2 is an evolution of the previous version, taking over existing characters and buying them from the community. Path of Exile 2 will be the sequel to your favorite action RPG, and it will also provide new players with a potentially great starting point. It’s too early to talk about the recommendation system requirements on the PC, because Grinding Gear Games is still in the early development phase of Path of Exile 2. The team currently has no plans for HDR output, but once players get a monitor that supports HDR. More may be added to the game. Wilson said he must check whether he supports Nvidia DLSS.
Given that some fans prefer to use gamepads instead of tapping their way through hordes of demonic bodies, Grinding Gear Game is working hard to provide Path of Exile 2 native controller support, which is lacking in the original game. "I really hope so, so that people can use the console controller on the PC, as well as the mouse and keyboard on the console," Wilson replied when asked about alternative control options. "We will definitely make sure that this happens." Unfortunately, native controller support may not be available at the time of release. POE Items can make you more invested in the game.
