With Air Max 270, 1990’s basketball sneaker nerds have much to be delighted about this summer, as at least three of Nike’s best Olympics colorways of the ’92 and ’96 summer games are making a comeback. And completing the trifecta of memorable Olympic retros (that we know about so far, anyway) is a reproduction of Penny Hardaway’s PE version the Zoom Flight ’96. Switching from his Air Penny 1 to the Zoom Flight for the 1996 summer games, Penny helped Team USA secure another gold medal in this white and navy version similar to the general release colorway, just with Penny’s Olympic #6 stitched in gold on each heel.
For Nike shoes,This Air Zoom Flight 96 'Olympic' 2016 was the first retro of the PE that Penny Hardaway wore in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. The design features a synthetic leather upper and padded ankle collar in white and Midnight Navy tones. A Phylon midsole and full-length Zoom Air unit provide support underfoot, while metallic gold accents emerge on the tongue and embroidered number 6 on the heel.
The Nike Air Force 1 Pixel White Orange is made of white leather, and the mesh falls on the tongue. This pair of white uppers has a pebble texture, not a smooth feel. The inverted side Swoosh seems to be composed of a soft orange underlay that is topped with a clear, vinyl element. Another high-shine detail is the heel tab, which opts for a richer orange that’s truer to that repped by Syracuse. The lace dubrae and tongue label feature the aforementioned colors to further offset the clean, white base. Rounding out the design is the Pixel’s signature distorted sole unit, where two blocks of the team color are found.
