Stick when catch and take or post fade. Button from anyplace in close. Works for me but it required a little practice. Is not it harder to pick your layup if you utilize button? I have always fought with these controls and utilized stick for layups. I would LOVE to NBA 2K21 MT be shooting 40% but I am blessed if I can hit 20%. I only play offline. I know we have scrub players at this time, and I am a below average player but seriously even layups which are in the middle of the meter are not going in. I don't even dare to try out a jump shot. The AI seems to be absurd levels as well. I understand they want to reward ability in 2k21 however this kind of material will truly put off casual players and people new the 2K franchise and brand new to basketball games.

I've been playing since 2K13 but I've never been that great of a participant. My starter players've never played this bad at 2k16,17,18,19 and 20. The only other 2K I played with before 2K20 was 2K13 and which was on PC. However, this is a whole new level using a very different mechanic. I did ok at the demo and in the quickgames with the new shooting meter but can't hit the side of a barn .

Only played the demo, but the stick was a great deal more reliable than button to get me. I have always been a button man too. I have a 75 3 pointer, I believe I greened one shot in like 5 nba games. . . Genuinely shooting 2/16 within an offline triple threat game on only layups and 1 open jumpshot which airballed on marginally early. Spent $100 for this bullshit lmao. Person that the shooting is additional nice right now but I would recommend shot time like look for your que on the animation.

Yep I'm having difficulty with it also. Started a match on My team heading 0/12 overlooking open 3s and midrange shots all around the place. I'm all for them toning down shots being nearly automatic but the system looks just a little bit too unforgiving so far. Hopefully will begin to get better after a couple more games of becoming used to Cheap 2K21 MT. The game just came out and we gotta new meter using slightly different time.
